Account Manager – Industry Brands

About the role
Reporting to the NSW Sales Manager, join a high performing sales team who have all been with the business for 3-7 years. Each team member is expected to maximise revenue in their portfolio through a combination of first class account management and dynamic new business selling – a truly hybrid role where you’re not bound to only manage accounts, nor is every call cold.
Based in the Sydney CBD, you will offer customised advertising sales solutions to Transport and Capital Equipment businesses, encompassing platforms; digital display, classifieds or listings, print, events, television, email, and custom video.
To succeed in the role there’s a simple formula of combining constant contact with your clients to ensure best possible service, including some regional travel, with some basic new business selling skills. If you can put these two skills together with a hunger to hit your numbers and earn commissions you will do well.
- Current client growth and new business acquisition.
- A focus on ongoing client and prospect communication, to understand the intricacies of their business’ which lead to rolling, seasonal and market-driven advertising opportunities.
- Maximise revenue and market share, offering all clients an appropriate mix of the Bauer Media suite of advertising options.
- Liaison with Brand Managers to ensure seasonal, market-driven and event related opportunities are secured.
- Bring new ideas and opportunities to the Bauer Trader Media brands you sell from what you learn in-market.
Skills and experience
- Previous field sales roles are a must (media sales or an understanding of listings and/or classifieds is an advantage, but not essential)
- Exceptional time and account management skills
- Basic outbound sales skills and/or training.
- Ability to work, within a sales team, with a broader multidisciplinary team and autonomously.
- Ability to travel regionally as required.
