Kickstart your media career here with a fixed term 12 month contract. Bauer’s Insights IQ is the research hub at the core of the growing and diversifying Bauer business. Our high-performing, market-leading, all-round-fantastic team is on the hunt for a Media Insights Analyst to join us.
You may not have heard of Bauer, but it’s the name behind some of the New Zealand’s (and the world’s) most loved media brands. You will have seen our magazines out and about (Fashion Quarterly, Metro, Woman’s Day, North & South, and Nadia, to name a few), or our websites (Miss FQ, Homes to Love, Now to Love, Food to Love, the list goes on). Our teams are producing world class content and getting it out through large scale, multimedia platforms. It’s an exciting time to be on board!
But, enough about us.
We’re looking for someone to jump in and get immersed – to drink the Kool-Aid and get to know and love our brands and audiences. If you can bridge the gap between data and a great story, you’ll be the perfect candidate for this role. We want someone who can work closely with our bustling sales team - understand the objective, line up the data, and tell the story.
Ideally you’ll be a top notch graduate with a relevant degree and a real desire to get into the media world. You’ll have a year or so of work under your belt and be looking to take an exciting new step. You’ll have a strong work ethic, an eagle eye, a readiness to learn and a positive attitude. Essential skills include: excellent written and verbal communication, a love of numbers and analytics, advanced Excel and PowerPoint capability and an eye for slide design.
Your role will include:
- Extensive support for the sales team
- Using a suite of media intelligence (Nielsen) tools to provide research and insights, along with creativity to help create compelling sales proposals for clients
- Setting up media schedules and responses
- Tracking market trends and share
- Reporting on audience metrics to the wider business
